Maple Bear School offers a blended curriculum that integrates both the local and Canadian educational standards. We use an immersion approach, introducing English (or another second language) gradually and in natural contexts. The goal is to help students become proficient in both languages without sacrificing their native language skills.
There is an optimal period where acquisition of a new language is uncomplicated and almost effortless. This period starts in infancy and goes to approximately age 7. After that it becomes increasingly difficult, and by adulthood, learning a new language is highly challenging. Brain science explains this phenomenon.
We know that the language center in the brains of young children is still developing. In fact, their brains are like sponges. At school, they absorb information unconsciously, unaware they are learning a second language. Yes, uniforms are required. By wearing uniforms, our Maple Bear students develop a sense of belonging and reduce economic, social, or cultural differences between them. Uniforms stimulate the daily focus of children at the Maple Bear education center and allow creativity to come from educational choices, not consumerism. Maple Bear uniforms are made of high-quality cotton materials and textiles safe for children and are there to facilitate the daily routines and security of the Maple Bear Students.
Our school meals are designed to be balanced and nutritious. Our menu is prepared by a nutritionist. Lunch and afternoon snacks are prepared by our chef and served to our students.
Our school hours start between 8:00 and 9:00 in the morning and end at 5:00 in the afternoon. From 5:00 to 6:00, we have a duty class program in place. Please check with your specific Maple Bear school for exact timings.
Maple Bear uses continuous assessment methods focusing on individual growth and skill development. We provide regular progress reports and schedule parent-teacher conferences to keep you updated on your child’s progress.

Student safety is our top priority. Therefore, we work with a full-time school nurse. In addition, we ensure regular cleaning, secure school entry, and have both our school nurse and trained staff available for emergencies.
Yes, we have trained staff on-site to handle minor injuries and emergencies. In case of a serious incident, parents will be contacted immediately, and emergency medical services will be called if needed.
