The Maple Bear Quality Assurance (MBQA) program was developed to maintain this standard, ensuring every student receives an exceptional education aligned with Canadian methodology and pedagogy. Each Maple Bear school undergoes an annual MBQA review led by expert Canadian School Administrators, bringing their extensive experience in instructional leadership and school management to support and evaluate our schools. Through this standardized process, we ensure rigorous academic standards and effective educational practices at every Maple Bear school globally.

Purpose of the Maple Bear Quality Assurance Program

The MBQA process is built on four key goals that align with our commitment to excellence:

Consistency and Cohesion: Ensuring that all Maple Bear schools deliver a unified, high-quality educational experience.
Quality, Rigour, and Accountability: Upholding rigorous standards across all educational levels, from Early Childhood to High School.
Enhanced Student Achievement: Fostering an environment that promotes student success, well-being, and continuous improvement.
Framework for Continuous Improvement: Providing a structured framework that supports schools in self-assessment, school improvement planning, and compliance with Maple Bear’s standards.

Frequency of Quality Assurance Reviews

After a school’s initial year of operation, the MBQA is conducted annually. This regular cycle ensures each school is supported in maintaining and continuously enhancing educational quality.

The Quality Assurance Instrument Focus

The Quality Assurance Instrument examines four Domains, as each of the Domains consists of Indicators that are rated accordingly – Limited, Below Expectations, Meets Expectations, Exceeds Expectations:

Academic Quality Assurance Reviewers

Our Academic Reviewers are seasoned Canadian School Administrators with substantial experience in educational leadership and pedagogy. Their role is central to the success of the Quality Assurance program as they:

Conduct comprehensive school evaluations, reviewing instructional practices and school culture.
Lead discussions with school leadership, observing teacher practices and interviewing staff to understand strengths and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with school leaders to draft actionable School Improvement Plans with SMART goals tailored to the school's unique context.

The School Visit Process

During the MBQA school visit, reviewers engage in a structured process to assess and support the school’s progress:

Initial Meeting

The Reviewer meets with school leaders to discuss the Self-Assessment and other evidence of school practices.

Observations and Data Collection

Тhe Reviewer performs school walk-throughs, observes classes, and conducts teacher interviews to gather a comprehensive view of the school.

Drafting the School Improvement Plan

Working with school leaders, the Reviewer drafts SMART goals and Action Plans aimed at promoting growth and improvement in key areas.

Active, Hands-On Learning

We prioritize experiential learning by integrating practical, hands-on activities that make learning both engaging and meaningful. Through inquiry-based learning, students are encouraged to explore, question, and understand concepts deeply, developing critical thinking skills and fostering a love for discovery.

Post-Review: The School Improvement Plan

Following the visit, each school receives a detailed School Improvement Plan. This plan outlines up to three SMART goals with specific action steps designed to support continuous development in alignment with Maple Bear’s standards. The Regional Director stays in close contact with the school to facilitate the plan’s implementation, conduct follow-up meetings, and ensure accountability.
